Yes Bank Says No!
Son: The Bombay High Court has asked Yes Bank to consider the appointment of Shagun Gogia, daughter of bank’s co-founder late Ashok Kapur, as a director on the board, dad.
Father: Go on, son.
Son: The bank had earlier said ‘No’ to the proposal citing RBI norms, dad.
Father: Go on, son.
Son: The bank wanted to apparently make it clear that just because its name is Yes Bank, it cannot say ‘Yes’ to such a proposal, dad!
Father: I don’t know, son!
PSU Bank Seeks Time to Pay Licence Fee Arrears!
Son: We have heard of borrowers seeking time to pay dues when their properties are attached by the banks, dad.
Father: True. Go on, son.
Son: But here is the case of a PSU bank seeking time to pay the arrears of licence fee, when its branch was sealed by the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagar Palike (BBMP), dad!
Father: Interesting. Go on, son.
Son: BBMP had sealed the branches of Vijaya Bank, Apex Bank and State Bank of Mysore at Public Utility Building on M G Road in Bangalore on 10th June as the banks had failed to pay the arrears, dad.
Father: Go on, son.
Son: All the banks had been served advance notices in this regard. But they simply ignored the notices, dad.
Father: Go on, son.
Son: While APEX Bank cleared its dues on the spot, the PSU Vijaya Bank could manage to pay only Rs2 crore against its dues of Rs3.25 crore, dad!
Father: Go on, son.
Son: The bank has sought time to clear the balance dues just like any of its defaulting borrowers, dad!
Father: Go on, Son.
Son: Interestingly the Head Office of the bank is situated on the same road nearby, dad!
Father: I don’t know, son!
Mallya has no Money- Talks to Continue!
Son: The Chairman of the Kingfisher Airlines Vijaya Mallya has told his employees who are on a hunger strike that “he had no money”, dad.
Father: Go on, Son.
Son: However, he told them that the Chief Executive Sanjay Agarwal would hold talks with them, dad.
Father: Hold talks on what? Go on, son.
Son: Anything other than the money (their salary), dad!
Father: I don’t know, son!
Was IPL Final Match Fixed?
Son: Even though the Delhi Police had arrested some IPL players including Sreesanth for spot fixing, so far police have not received any match fixing allegations, dad.
Father: True. Go on, son.
Son: But now there are some rumours that the final match of IPL-6 between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings might have been fixed, dad.
Father: How come? Go on, son.
Son: The Chennai Super Kings team had played excellently in the whole series. But it meekly surrendered to Mumbai Indians in the final, dad.
Father: True. Go on, son.
Son: Sachin Tendulkar, the legend, had performed miserably in the tournament and his fans were fed up with his refusal to announce his retirement, dad.
Father: Go on, son.
Son: It seems they all ganged up to fix the match in favour of Mumbai Indians so that the legend could announce his retirement honourably, dad!
Father: I don’t know, son!
